Title I Intervention Reading & Math Support Tutor
Reports to:
Principal
Essential Functions:
- Assist classroom teachers, as assigned by the principal, in use of student data to plan small group and individual standards-based instruction
- Assist teachers with full implementation of district initiatives
- Assist teachers with planning instructional interventions for students based upon the data
- Implement interventions with small groups or individual students within the classroom environment
- Monitor student progress through conferencing and assessments to determine effectiveness of instruction
- Support effective use of instructional time by coaching student individual work, by delivering targeted small group lessons, and by conferencing with students about learning
- Assist teacher with the development of learning centers or stations to address critical needs in skill development; assist teachers with facilitation of station work during differentiated learning time
The Title I Intervention Support Program is designed to enhance classroom instruction and improve student outcomes by providing targeted academic support in reading and mathematics. Intervention support tutors will work closely with classroom teachers to analyze student data, plan, and deliver small-group and individual, standards-based instruction tailored to student needs. Additionally, tutors will assist teachers in implementing district initiatives and delivering classroom interventions.
By working up to 30 hours per week, tutors play a crucial role in supporting the district's mission to provide equitable and effective instructional support, fostering student growth and achievement.
Part-Time:
Follows teacher contracted work days, 6 hours per day.
TITLE I FUNDED
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Ohio Department of Education teaching license
- Previous experience with classroom support services
- Expertise in classroom management to support differentiated instruction
- Previous experience with student assessment and use of data to plan interventions
- Willingness to participate in all required training and meetings related to the assignment
- Successful BCI/FBI background check
