6th-8th Grade Math​/Science Teacher

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified 6th‑8th Grade Math/Science Teacher at Ginn‑Thompson School for Girls in Cleveland, Ohio. The role focuses on engaging students in middle‑school math and science, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting academic and social‑emotional development.

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed throughout the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
• Apply research‑based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior and create a supportive learning environment.
• Use school‑approved curricula that reflect diverse student backgrounds.
• Implement school‑wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate with families regarding academic and social‑emotional growth.
• Integrate technology skills into daily instruction.
• Participate in planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Comfortable working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information properly.
• Capacity to supervise students in various school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).
• Pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working in an urban environment.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $41,000 – $50,500. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
