Instructional Lab Assistant, YTA
To assist the YTA program in the provision of technical instruction providing learning support to high school students. Assist with program outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students in the College Credit Plus program by providing supplemental instruction assistance in technical classes. In addition, provide competitive robotics/drones team support to students in the areas of building, designing, and competing.
Essential Functions- Assist Coordinators with recruitment of students for YTA
- Train students for YTA
- Assist students in YTA logistical matters
- Facilitate and proctor college-level classes in high schools
- Facilitate student technology competitions
- Act as YTA liaison in the community and high schools
- Assist in technology training as necessary
- Assist all staff as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience/Training
- High School diploma
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community
- Ability to determine needs and identify solutions
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality
- Possess basic knowledge of fundamental technology learning platforms, concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
- Possess basic-level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel or equivalent software

Education and Experience/Training
- Experience working with technology platforms
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Prior experience with CAD
- Knowledge of and experience with robotics, drones, and microcomputers
- Experience with shop floor equipment such basic shop tools as well as lathes, routers, and 3-D printers
- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment.
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
Set-Rate Non-Bargaining Part-Time Position:
This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $20.20/ hour.
