Teach 2 courses or sections per semester in the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Department at the 100 or 200 level. Mentor and oversee lecturers, post‑docs, and graduate students who are assigned to teach 100 and 200 level classes. Work with the departments serviced by these classes to ensure the topics covered are appropriate. Advise undergraduates as needed with their program of study.
Serve on some of the committees in the department.
MATH 223 Calculus for Science and Engineering III:
Introduction to vector algebra; lines and planes. Functions of several variables: partial derivatives, gradients, chain rule, directional derivative, maxima/minima. Multiple integrals, cylindrical and spherical coordinates. Derivatives of vector valued functions, velocity and acceleration. Vector fields, line integrals, Green’s theorem.
MATH 224 Elementary Differential Equations: A first course in ordinary differential equations. First order equations and applications, linear equations with constant coefficients, linear systems, Laplace transforms, numerical methods of solution.
MATH 201 Introduction to Linear Algebra for Applications:
Matrix operations, systems of linear equations, vector spaces, subspaces, bases and linear independence, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalization of matrices, linear transformations, determinants.
Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field of study.
Salary Range$69,909 to $86,932 per year
