The Richmond Heights Elementary School has a student population of approximately 400 students. The building currently has one administrator, the building principal. The school recently added a third kindergarten classroom due to increased enrollment and has placed some of these kindergarten students in half‑day situations to help manage the school culture and climate. The district has also engaged PEP Assist to analyze the behaviors, strategies, and processes of both the students and the adults.

To allow the principal to fulfill mandated administrative compliances—evaluations, testing, curriculum and activity planning—assistance is needed in managing the school culture and climate.

• Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and academic (AVID) school culture;
• Supervise the consistent and fair administration of school policies regarding student conduct and discipline;
• Support teachers to create and sustain classroom management systems that ensure a focus on learning and student success;
• Oversee the development and implementation of student supports and interventions;
• Serve as a liaison to parents and facilitate parent education and involvement in support of school culture policies;
• In working with the Family and Community Liaison, play an active role in coordinating school partnerships;
• Create and present formal reports on school culture and safety;
• Facilitate faculty and staff professional development related to school culture and consistent enforcement of student discipline;
• Organize school events that encourage community connection to and investment in the school culture and student success;
• Conduct sessions for new students and their families that focus on the mantra of the building and the schools expectations;
• Assist with the use of Student Support Teams, PBIS, Class Meetings, Bullying Prevention and other SEL initiatives;
• Oversee the management of the student lunch periods in the cafeteria/playground;
• Oversee student transitions between classes and create protocols where needed;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• BA/BS degree required;
• Experience and demonstrated ability in working with children in a teaching, counseling or other applicable capacity;
• Prior experience in an urban, high-poverty and/or turnaround school strongly preferred;
• Commitment to accountability, professional development, and student success;
• Exhibited leadership in working with staff, students, and the community;
• Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills;
• Bilingual preferred (but not required);
• Ability to work beyond the normal workday and some weekends;
• Ability and willingness to communicate and work collaboratively with school administrators, parents and community representatives;
• Demonstrated ability to provide great customer service in a multiethnic/culturally diverse environment and to think and act in ways that respect ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, religious and language diversity;
• A personal sense of accountability around the ultimate success of the RHLSD Strategic Plan;
• Unwavering belief that all students can succeed.
