Job Summary:
Assists the head coach, cross country and track & field in organizing the women's cross country and track and field programs to ensure a quality program and successful team. Assists with day-to-day coaching and training operations of the program in all events, with a focus on cross country and distance. Assists with all aspects of recruiting. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or state recognized equivalent. Prior experience as a competitor and/or coach at the club, college, or international level, or equivalent, including student and/or graduate assistant work. Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferably in sports management or related field. Experience coaching a Division I cross country and/or track & field program. Strong recruiting background.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them. Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a "Customer service" attitude and delivery. Ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources. Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and tackle emergencies and difficult situations. Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality to available information. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
