** CULINARY ARTS TEACHER
** Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School is seeking candidates for a full time position as a Culinary Arts instructor. The individual will serve as a full-time teacher in our Catholic High School and will be responsible for teaching classes as assigned by the principal. Implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education.

The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching the art of cooking, nutrition, and budgets to high school students. The position will begin in mid-August for the  school year.

* Job responsibilities:

*** Teach students kitchen safety and food handling
* Teach students about kitchen staples, ordering, and budgeting
* Teach students how to plan a menu and determine nutritional value
* Regularly assess student on their culinary skills
* Plan and implement lessons consistent with the Diocese of Cleveland curriculum guidelines
* Integrate the use of technology
* Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner
* Carry out all responsibilities expected of faculty members
* Actively supervise students at all times
* Carry out other duties as assigned by the principal

* Job requirements:

*** Strong background in Culinary Arts
* Valid teaching license or approved non-tax license
* Bachelor’s degree required
* Able to pass FBI/BCI background check
* Strong background in teaching pedagogy
* Prefer Experience teaching urban high school students
* Uphold the values of the Catholic faith
* VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified
