Physical Education Teacher - Full TimeVilla Angela-St. Joseph High School is seeking candidates for a Physical Education Teacher position. The individual will serve as a full‑time teacher in our Catholic High School and will be responsible for teaching classes as assigned by the principal and implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education.
A Teaching license is preferred. The ideal candidate will develop and deliver engaging physical activity programs, promote fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles. They will create and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and ensure a safe and positive learning environment in a diverse school environment. Other job responsibilities include but are not limited to communicating with parents and colleagues in a professional manner, participation in faculty or committee meetings, participation in school retreats, and supervising students in a variety of settings.
Include
- Teach students various sports and activities for physical fitness
- Teach students about appropriate nutrition and fitness
- Plan and implement lessons consistent with the Diocese of Cleveland curriculum guidelines
- Plan and implement lessons aligned to the approved curriculum for physical education
- Integrate the use of technology effectively into the curriculum
- Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner
- Participate in faculty meetings, committee meetings, professional development opportunities, and retreats
- Assess students fairly and regularly
- Actively supervise students at all times
- Teaching license (preferred) or approved non-tax license
- Experience with teaching Physical Education
- Able to pass FBI/BCI background check
- VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified
- Strong background in teaching pedagogy
- Experience teaching urban high school students
