Job SummaryAssists the head coach, cross country and track & field in organizing the women’s cross country and track and field programs to ensure a quality program and successful team. Assists with day-to-day coaching and training operations of the program in all events, with a focus on cross country and distance. Assists with all aspects of recruiting. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma, GED , or state recognized equivalent.
- Prior experience as a competitor and/or coach at the club, college, or international level, or equivalent, including student and/or graduate assistant work.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in sports management or related field.
- Experience coaching a Division I cross country and/or track & field program.
- Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them.
- Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer service” attitude and delivery.
- Ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources.
- Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
