Chemist

Overview

This position will be responsible to support developing and maintaining products for Auto OEM customer.

• Works with cross functional teams and support new color and product development, and technology cost and improvement projects.
• Follow experimental procedures, generate reliable data and consistently demonstrates the ability to contribute to the design of experiments. Lead independent projects or portions of larger project.
• Utilizes project management skills, process technology, knowledge of manufacturing, process technology, business, and internal/external resources with some direction/supervision from a team leader or senior chemist.
• Demonstrate commitment to goals through words and actions. Demonstrates adaptability and will drive positive change. Fosters a culture of innovation.
• Application of root cause analysis and BPI tools to support resolution of technical, manufacturing and field issues.
• Support formula optimization and raw material initiative projects:
  • Knowledge of chemistry/coating technology support the manufacturing, business, cost optimization and internal/external customers.
• Seeks new projects and does not avoid complex assignments. Concisely describes action plans to appropriate parties.

• Bachelor"s Science Degree in Chemistry or related Engineering or Science field with 2 or more years of coating experience
• Good communications skills
• Ability to support multiple projects
• Preferably experience with Oracle, Quality Tool, Colorportal, LFA, NPD/Indx.
• Preferably experience with project management
