As a Senior Chemist
, you will develop coating products for Automotive OEM customers. You will lead complex technical projects, drives innovation, and support technology approvals while collaborating across cross‑functional and global teams. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop products for Automotive OEM customers, including new color and product development projects
Lead technology cost, complexity, and performance improvement projects
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan, manage, and execute projects using project management skills, process technology, manufacturing knowledge, and internal and external resources
Independently plan and direct all aspects of assigned project areas while managing resources and timelines for customer teams
Apply root cause analysis and BPI tools to resolve technical, manufacturing, and field issues
Lead formula optimization and raw material initiative projects
Influence technical direction on projects outside of direct responsibilities and lead more than one technology area
Seek out new projects and challenging assignments and clearly communicate action plans to appropriate stakeholders
Communicate effectively at all organizational levels and motivate peers and associates in cooperative efforts
Make difficult technical decisions and earn support across teams, customers, and partners
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while driving positive change
Lead change programs and guide technology approvals
Use and support standard processes and internal IT tools, including LFA, RMT/OPLA, and INDX
Bachelor's Science Degree in Chemistry or related Engineering or Science field with 5 or more years of coating experience
Project management experience and ability to support multiple projects
Experience in using statistical tools for data analysis
Strong experience in technology transfer across different regions (globally)
Experience in development of Primer and Basecoat (WB/SB), and Clear coat
Excellent communications skills
Flexibility to lead meeting with Japan during the nights/earlier mornings
Agility to support unexpected issues outside of office hours
Excellent knowledge of office packages (Word, Excel, Power Point) and preferred basic knowledge on Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps.
Language skills are preferred
Ability to travel up to 15%
