Environmental Design Group is seeking a qualified Right-of-Way Acquisition Agent to assist with all aspects of right-of-way acquisition for infrastructure projects. We seek professionals who thrive on solving complex challenges while balancing the needs of both property owners and project stakeholders. In this role, you will coordinate with clients, secure land and easements, negotiate with property owners, conduct title research, prepare legal documents, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

- Conduct property title research and verify property ownership records.
- Lead property negotiations with landowners to secure right-of-way acquisitions in compliance with ODOT and federal guidelines.
- Perform closings, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Understanding of the acquisition process proficiency in utilizing all tools necessary to clear the project successfully.
- Communicate effectively with property owners, stakeholders, and project teams to maintain project timelines and expectations.
- Communicate to the Project Manager promptly as issues arise in the field.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Use available technology to streamline processes.
- Provide clear and concise documentation of all project activities.
- Perform field activities.
- Adhere to all quality and safety protocols.
- Make recommendations and demonstrate analytical, problem-solving capabilities.
- Attend client meetings and networking events as directed by the Project Manager.
- Participate in social media and recruiting efforts.
- Develop a professional network.
- Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience. - Experience:
5 years experience preferred. - Active Ohio Notary Public certification required.
- ODOT Prequalification in Titles, Negotiations, and Closings (required), or ability to obtain in 3 years.
- Prior experience in right-of-way acquisition, with a strong knowledge of property laws and ODOT standards.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties are in demand.
TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day. Must have a valid driver’s license and possess a driving record that will enable the employee to be insurable under the Company’s standard vehicle insurance and general comprehensive liability insurance without additional costs to the Company.
This role does not have direct reports; however, future leadership or advancement opportunities may be available within Environmental Design Group.
