The parent project broadly encompasses the development of components for a Class 2 bioimpedance measurement device, as well as externally worn devices that could interface with the device.

Engineering activities will include facilitating technical integration across sub-projects as well as contributing to the design and development of hardware and software. They will demonstrate innovation and creativity leading to significant accomplishments and innovation for a Class 2 bioelectrical engineering platform ecosystem. They will provide expertise, variety, and complex analysis in a managerial capacity to facilitate development but may also develop new techniques to support creation, validation, and implementation of this technology in other projects.

  • Develop technical and methodological solutions to complex engineering/ scientific problems requiring independent analytical thinking and advanced knowledge. The individual will work directly on extremely complex problems that impact the success of current projects for a bioelectrical system as well as a standalone bioimpedance analysis system or addresses broad design issues of future projects or technologies. (10%)
  • Develop creative new or improved equipment, materials, technologies, processes, methods, or software important to the advancement of the field. The engineer will design and implement circuits, enclosures, software, and test approaches to evaluate devices for sensing physiologic signals from the body and to apply stimulation to improve health. (10%)
  • Contribute technical expertise, and perform basic research and development in support of programs/ projects; act as adviser/consultant in area of specialty.
