We provide civil/site design, land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for a PE‑credentialed Sr. Geotechnical Engineer who will be a key member and Department Lead of the Geotech Team, performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients. You’ll leverage your extensive expertise and creative problem‑solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies, architects, engineers, developers, and project teams to deliver customized geotechnical studies, reports, and solutions. From initial concept development to final execution, this role will guide projects through every stage of the land profile evaluation process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results.

Highlights
  • Interesting projects ranging from infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and “one‑off”/unique engineering.
    • Typically, the projects are primarily focused on DOT‑related (roadway) and airport/runway.
  • Projects are typically located within a 60‑90 mile radius of the company office – extensive travel is uncommon and overnight travel is rare.
    • A company vehicle can be provided or reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
  • The role will be based out of our Brunswick office (southern Cleveland).
Responsibilities
  • Perform geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluation on developments.
  • Train and supervise lab technicians, maintain quality reviews and certifications, manage equipment inventory and calibration, and prepare client marketing and proposals.
  • Train and develop lesser‑experienced Engineers (EIs and new PEs).
  • As the Northern Ohio Department Manager, oversee the northern OH region (operations, P&L, scheduling, oversight) and serve in both personal production and management capacities.
  • Track project progress in timeline and budget/profit‑loss capacities.
  • Assist Marketing with technical aspects of generating proposals.
  • Oversee quality of submitted work (QA/QC).
  • Provide direction on a project‑to‑project basis – e.g., prepare lab testing assignments, review documents, and test results for content and accuracy.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports.
  • Interact with clients on technical aspects of the projects.
  • Review soil laboratory test results.
  • Assist in planning and executing subsurface investigation programs – including understanding project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, and coordinating underground utility clearance.
  • Develop and analyze designs for earth embankments, earth‑retaining structures, and anchoring systems.
  • Perform analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards and specifications.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read design drawings.
  • Ability to meet schedules.
  • Experience with common geotechnical software or the ability to learn software with minimal training.
  • Self‑motivated, reliable, quality‑minded, and detail‑oriented.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
  • PE credentialing is required.
Education
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
