Position Reports toMgr Systems Engineering
Internship OverviewAs an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Cleveland, OH.
Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements.
You will be mainly accountable for:- Collaborate with engineering teams to support various aspects of control systems projects for power, water, oil and gas industry customers
- Participate in hardware and software design, development, and testing activities
- Utilize computer programs and engineering software to perform technical operations and analyses
- Conduct engineering analyses and provide related data, documentation, and information
- Proactively troubleshoot technical challenges and research innovative solutions throughout project life cycles
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to solve engineering problems and optimize processes
- Explore and apply artificial intelligence solutions to improve automation system performance and efficiency
- Attend both in-person and on-the-job training sessions to develop technical and professional skills
- Document work processes, findings, and recommendations clearly and accurately
- Support the team in meeting project milestones and deliverables. Additionally will support customer factory acceptance tests.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related field
- Candidates must have junior or senior academic status at the time of the co‑op
- Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
- Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
