Systems Engineer, Software Engineer
Aurora, OH area, with flexibility across other Midwest offices. Remote considered for exceptional candidates.
This is not a technician level LabVIEW role.
This is for someone who architects applications that are built to last a decade. Someone who understands design patterns, writes structured code, and can walk into a complex application and explain exactly how it works.
You will focus on advanced R&D and automated test systems. High speed data acquisition. Real time control. Systems that move faster and are more complex than typical PLC environments.
What you’ll do- Work directly with customers to define functional requirements
- Architect and design LabVIEW applications using LVOOP and Actor Framework or similar design patterns such as DQMH
- Develop and modify large scale applications built for long term deployment
- Design and develop SQL scripts for SQLite, Microsoft SQL, or MySQL
- Support electrical control panel design and instrument wiring diagrams
- Commission systems on site
- Train and mentor junior engineers
- Step into a lead role on projects and mentor junior team members
- 5+ years designing and architecting LabVIEW applications
- Strong experience with Actor Framework or equivalent design patterns
- Experience with LVOOP and object oriented programming in LabVIEW
- Certified LabVIEW Architect preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- Confidence navigating and interpreting complex applications you have never seen before
- Willingness to work in office initially to embed with the team
- NI Real Time experience with cRIO or PXIe
- Exposure to robotics or vision inspection systems
- Background within a systems integrator or custom automation environment
This is a well established automation systems integrator with a long track record of stability and growth. They have never made layoffs and take a long term view of their people and their projects.
Training and development is a genuine priority. Engineers are encouraged to grow into lead roles, own technical decisions, and mentor others. If you are looking to move from being an individual contributor into leading a small team, or you are already leading and want more ownership, this is the kind of environment that supports it.
For the first year, you will be encouraged to work in office to integrate fully with the team and culture. After that, hybrid flexibility is available.
Benefits- Performance based bonus
- Travel incentives and per diem packages
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401k with company match
- Generous PTO including vacation, holidays, and personal time
- Ongoing training, certifications, and professional development support
If you are a true LabVIEW architect rather than someone who has simply used LabVIEW at a basic level, I would welcome a conversation. Send your resume across and we can talk through whether it makes sense.
