- ACI Concrete Field Testing
- ODOT Pre-qualified for Soil and Compaction
- NICET Soil Level 2 or higher
- NETTCP Soils and Aggregate Inspector
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- 2+ years of experience within soil testing
- High school diploma
A soil materials tester spends the day performing field and laboratory tests to ensure soil meets project specifications. They travel to construction sites to conduct compaction and moisture tests, collect samples, and observe earthwork operations for compliance. Travel will be up to two hours away and reimbursed. There will be a company vehicle provided in most instances. Throughout the day, they record accurate data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to engineers and project managers.
When needed, they analyze samples in the lab for classification and density. At the end of the day, they maintain equipment, upload reports, and plan for upcoming assignments.
- Perform material testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete and concrete at the time of placement on an active construction site.
- Field sampling and compaction testing.
- Field inspection, testing, sampling, equipment, and equipment maintenance on assigned project.
- Laboratory analysis of soil properties (density, moisture, classification).
- Accurate documentation and reporting.
- Communication with project stakeholders.
- Compliance with safety and environmental standards
