What You’ll Do:As an Embedded Systems Engineer at Traeger, you will design, develop, and implement embedded software that controls our Traeger grills, MEATER wireless probes, and product test fixtures. You will contribute to sustaining our current products, building new features and enhancements that improve performance and user experience, and discovering innovations for future products. Success in this position requires strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills, creativity, innovation, and attention to detail, along with clear communication of findings and progress across hardware, firmware, performance, and product teams.
This position is with the firmware development group located in our Cleveland, Ohio office.
How You’ll Help Us Win:- Design, document, manage, and maintain embedded software solutions from concept to implementation, ensuring they meet performance, cost, compliance, and reliability requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, test team, culinary, and design engineers to ensure everything is properly implemented and tested.
- Improve, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues or failures that arise during development, testing, or production.
- Support occasional travel or after-hours teleconferences with domestic and international partners as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
- 1 to 4 years of experience designing and developing firmware.
- Proficiency in C programming language.
- Thorough understanding of RTOS-based micro-controllers and micro-controller architecture.
- Experience with hardware bring-up and bench-level debugging using test equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and data acquisition equipment).
- Experience with at least some drivers for and/or utilizing various peripheral devices, sensors, and protocols such as BLE, Wi‑Fi, UART, SPI, I2C, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas across a cross-functional team.
- Self‑motivated and self‑driven to work independently on a task but call for help when needed.
- Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
