Welcome to Alpine Intel, a leader in the property insurance intelligence industry. We are currently seeking a full-time Regional Consulting Engineer to join our growing team in Cleveland, OH.

As the Regional Consulting Engineer, you will be responsible for providing quality service in consulting, restoration, and salvage for insurance losses involving technical equipment. You will utilize your expertise to perform field investigations, subsequent research, and summarize all findings in a report for the client.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct and manage investigations involving commercial and industrial systems.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Overall organization and execution of the project, ensuring professionalism, quality, and integrity.
    • Utilizing technical expertise for independent and collaborative analysis, guiding support colleagues, and ensuring findings are documented and delivered to the client.
    • Documenting findings internally and in a final deliverable report.
    • Managing project timeline, documentation, budget preparation and adherence, and overall time management.
    • Interfacing with clients, verbally and written, to provide updates and meet expectations.
    • Managing vendors/subcontractors needed to complete the project.
    • Liaising with suppliers and contractors to secure necessary materials and services.
    • Conducting equipment troubleshooting and evaluation to determine repair/refurbish/replace decisions.
    • Establishing the cause of equipment damage such as water damage, lightning damage, or power surge.
  • Claims may be related to all types of electronic equipment, including computer networks, medical technology, industrial machinery, telecommunications infrastructure, and manufacturing equipment.
  • May be asked to complete other work or projects for the company as determined by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience evaluating failures in a commercial or industrial setting required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • 20% travel, occasional overnight travel required; travel may increase depending on claim volume.
  • Experience in consulting or client-facing roles beneficial.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Must have an inquisitive nature.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
  • Customer service mentality.
  • Accountable for following through on commitments with professionalism, quality, and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally required to stand on one’s feet for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time.
  • Performs work in an office environment with noise levels consistent with an office, and on client sites which may be an industrial/manufacturing environment.
