As a Senior Consultant, Lead Wetland Delineator at ERM, based in Cleveland, Ohio, you'll play a strategic role in balancing environmental protection with the infrastructure and energy projects that shape our world. What Your Impact Is
* Lead wetland delineations and protected species assessments for high‑profile, high‑impact projects.
* Produce technical reports, datasets, and compliance strategies that influence infrastructure planning and regulatory outcomes.
* Partner with ERM Project Managers and senior leaders to deliver innovative, fit‑for‑purpose environmental solutions.
* Shape permitting pathways and impact assessments across renewable energy, utilities, land development, and other key sectors.
What You'll Bring
Required
* BS in environmental science, biology, natural resources, or a related discipline (minimum 3.0 GPA), or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years of experience (5 years strongly preferred) in environmental consulting or related field.
Technical
Skills:
* Wetland delineation using the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and Regional Supplements.
* Plant identification, soil sampling, hydric soil indicators, and hydrology field assessment.
* Strong data management and technical report writing capabilities.
Other Requirements:
* Driver's License
Required:
This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
* Ability to travel up to 75%.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic field and project environments.
* This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred
* Professional Wetland Certificate (nationwide) and experience working in the Midwest.
* Experience with NEPA environmental assessments, permitting, and compliance documentation.
* Familiarity with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, and state/local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform wetland delineations across Upper Midwest states using federal and regional protocols.
* Conduct habitat assessments, environmental due diligence, and NEPA‑related impact analysis.
* Prepare multi‑media environmental permitting materials and compliance management plans.
* Support project delivery through field surveys, data interpretation, literature reviews, and technical reporting.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop recommendations and strategic solutions for clients.
* Manage quality, budgets, and timelines in alignment with ERM's Impact Assessment team objectives.
For the Senior Consultant, Lead Wetland Delineator position, the anticipated annual base pay is $69,386-$102,301 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
