Buyer, Engineering

This position focuses on balancing cost, inventory, and service across AIT’s Distribution network by managing the ordering process for select suppliers.

• Resolving errors in the ordering process
• Releasing purchase orders
• Managing returns processing
• Resolving invoice discrepancies
• Validating past due open orders
• Maintaining data integrity
• Assessing and processing special buys
• Managing new introduction order processing
• Supporting Service Centers with issues related to the DC ordering or stocking strategy
• Controlling processes through the effective use of reporting and exception reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree – Computer Science, Supply Chain, Engineering or Equivalent
• MS Excel experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• SAP experience a plus, purchasing experience preferred
• Solid problem solving / analytical skills
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

• Ability to effectively influence and impact across network at all levels in the organization
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to understand clients’ needs and help them resolve related issue
• Ability to use critical thinking.
