Role Description
Arcadis seeks to hire a Senior Roadway Design Engineer to join the team in the Cleveland, Columbus, or Akron location. In this position, you will have the opportunity to lead and direct the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and interstate interchanges.
Role Accountabilities- You will have the opportunity to perform different roles on multi‑disciplined projects including technical design, production lead, task leader, and assisting Project Manager and lead engineers.
- Participate in a client‑facing role, either as a team or individual, making presentations and managing client expectations.
- Project development experience should include working as an individual or through team efforts to assist in developing project scopes and budgets, interfacing with and maintenance of client needs for the Project Manager, mentoring and development of junior staff and design/drafters, development of project plans and maintaining project schedules, and ensuring project compliance with all Arcadis practices including quality and safety standards.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10 or more years’ relevant engineering experience including supervision of elements of large, complex projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Engineering experience with infrastructure design and construction engineering, including cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans, and project displays.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as Civil3D, Micro Station, and experience with Open Roads software.
- Familiarity with ODOT design standards and policies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for client‑facing and presentation duties.
- Ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and self‑motivated, team‑oriented attitude with initiative and flexibility.
- Ohio PE license.
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
- Experience in maintenance traffic design.
- Experience in traffic signals design.
- Experience in roadway drainage design.

Salary range: $126,592 – $161,405. Actual salaries will vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
