Administrator of Engineering & Planning
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business/Public Administration, or related field required.
- Five years of full-time paid progressively responsible experience in an engineering environment with inspection project management required. (Substitution:
Two years any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking.)
- Typical Duties
- Lead, manage, and mentor CPP’s Engineering team, including Electric Engineers, Civil Engineers, Administrative support staff, and technical and engineering services contract support and report on their status.
- Establish deadlines, ensure complete and timely deliverables, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate cross functional teams to ensure the successful completion of projects involving high and medium voltage Transmission and Distribution systems and street lighting.
- Directly manage essential projects, and oversee the management of various construction, engineering, and support projects.
- Coordinate with customers, utilities, and other external entities.
- Perform multiple NERC standards compliance tasks including collecting, reviewing, and organizing documents, ensuring deadlines are met, and subject matter experts complete mandatory tasks.
- Maintain an understanding of the changing NERC standards. Work closely with the Compliance department and schedule work to ensure compliance with NERC deadlines.
- Perform other job-related duties as required, including compliance with all applicable NERC and RF reliability standards and PJM business Manuals.
- Highly Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification in an Electric or Civil Engineering discipline.
- Two (2) or more years working in an engineering environment with project management and troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex technical topics to an audience of diverse non-technical backgrounds.
- Experience with various Engineering and related applications including AutoCAD, GIS, Drafting, and drawing management systems.
- Applied knowledge of high and medium voltage transmission and distribution systems, including interpreting circuit maps and electrical diagrams.
- Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or directly related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Applied knowledge with Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of power management systems and power modeling software.
- Experience in work order management systems such as Cityworks.
- Expertise developing and documenting processes and procedures
