What You Will Do:
The ODOT District 12 Capital Programs Department, which includes the Planning, Design, and Construction sections, has a position vacancy that requires the expertise of a professional engineer. District 12 continuously delivers a construction program that averages over $270M per year with projects that have a wide range of complexities in both rural and urban environments. TE3 – Construction
Oversee and administer multiple construction projects of varying complexity. Work closely with Design and Maintenance Departments to address issues and future project considerations. Perform constructability plan reviews. Process change orders and estimates. Utilize multiple computer software programs such as GoForms, Mobile Inspector, AASHTOWare Project (AWP), etc. to manage construction projects. Manage in-house and consultant inspection staff. Act as a mentor for upcoming project engineers and interns.

The District 12 Capital Programs Department is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio who is passionate about public service, conscientious, self-directed, adaptable problem solver, and takes initiative to manage issues independently. The candidate should have a good understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and the ODOT Construction and Materials Specifications. The candidates should also have proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and contract documents.
Strong communication skills are essential for interacting and building relationships with various team members, project stakeholders, public officials, contractors, and external customers.
