Osborn Engineering is seeking Bridge Project Managers with 10+ years of experience on ODOT-type design projects for our office locations. The role involves serving as a design engineer on bridge projects and other miscellaneous structural projects. Typical bridge projects include steel beam/girder, pre‑stressed concrete, concrete slabs, and earth‑filled arches for clients such as the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), counties, municipalities, and private owners.
This position reports to the Manager of Transportation Engineering and works closely with the Director of Municipal and Transportation Engineering, other transportation project managers, and senior engineers to support team growth and mentorship.
Founded in 1892, Osborn is one of the oldest and most respected engineering firms in the country, providing full‑discipline design services across a wide range of infrastructure projects. The firm’s Infrastructure Group plays a key role in the design of signature projects throughout Northeast Ohio.
Position Responsibilities- Act as an active team member performing designs for various types of bridge improvement projects throughout Ohio.
- Prepare preliminary and detailed design plans, quantities, specifications, and probable construction cost estimates.
- Apply critical thinking in developing, evaluating, selecting, and modifying standards engineering techniques and procedures.
- Occasionally communicate with clients and/or sub‑consultants regarding current design projects.
- Perform periodic field construction observation and respond to requests for information during the construction phase.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of experience in bridge design and inspection.
- Design and detailing experience per ODOT Bridge Standards.
- Experience with Micro Station, Geopak, AutoCAD Civil 3D with the Ohio State Kit.
- Proficiency in structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
- Familiarity with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications is desirable.
