Role Description The Cost Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Cleveland, OH. This position is responsible for analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for custom machined composite parts. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing customer inquiries, calculating material, labor, and overhead costs, preparing detailed quotations, and collaborating with engineering, production, and sales teams to refine estimates.

The Cost Estimator will track actual project costs against estimates, update pricing models, and provide cost-related insights to support decision-making and profitability. This role also involves maintaining organized records of estimates, continuously improving estimation processes, and ensuring that quotations are delivered accurately and on time.

Qualifications

  • Strong cost management and cost control skills to develop and maintain accurate, competitive pricing.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and project estimation experience for complex, custom manufacturing projects.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial analysis related to materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Experience working with technical drawings, specifications, or CNC/machine shop environments is beneficial.
  • Solid math skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret engineering documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, production, and sales teams.
  • Comfort with estimation or ERP software and standard office productivity tools.
  • Relevant technical or business education (e.g., degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, or finance).
