Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering, Process Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer II will lead manufacturing improvements to the Peak Nano production process. This includes managing capital improvements, operation, and troubleshooting of multilayer cast film co-extrusion lines designed to produce capacitor films.
Peak Nano is focused on delivering innovative, disruptive solutions to the nanolayer film market. Located in Valley View, OH, the Manufacturing Engineer II will work closely with all functions to ensure high quality, efficient material development and production of nanolayered capacitor films
Key responsibilities include:
- Document and manage standard work instructions
- Identify material and workflow bottlenecks and implement solutions
- Develop and implement maintenance plans
- Resolve film quality concerns on customer programs
- Recommend / develop equipment and process upgrades
- Support scale-up and commercialization of new technologies by working seamlessly with other groups, business partners, and customers
- Consistently apply the Scientific Method in the planning and execution of experimental plans
- Train extrusion technicians on daily line operations
- Demonstrate the appropriate use of statistical tools to solve complex problems
- Use skills and competencies to increase productivity of self and others
- Serve on multi-disciplinary project teams to collaborate, provide technical input, and deliver results aligned with team deliverables
- Understand and implement appropriate EH&S standards, policies, and procedures applicable to the operation of an extrusion line. Lead by example for sate behaviors by promoting safe work habits
- Install, commission, and lead operation of nanolayer coextrusion line
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Web handling experience in films, paper, or converting industry
- Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
- Ability to partner with team members and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds
- Willingness to learn statistical data analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLC systems
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma
- Experience with Net Suite ERP
- Experience with film processing
- New product scale-up and commercialization experience
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment
