Project Surveyor
The Project Surveyor will support the Survey Department through office-based surveying and project management activities. The role involves preparing boundary, ALTA, subdivision, topographic, and right-of-way surveys and plans, processing field data, conducting land record research, generating staking points, and directing field personnel in accordance with Ohio surveying standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Subdivision Plats, Topographic Surveys, and Right-of-Way Plans.
- Prepare Legal Descriptions.
- Generate staking points and process field data.
- Conduct land record research and meet platting requirements for County and City agencies throughout Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
- Direct field personnel to perform field surveys according to State of Ohio minimum standards or above.
- Coordinate surveying activities between office and field personnel.
- Support project scheduling and work production activities.
- Manage and coordinate personnel as required.
- Transition field survey information into accurate office-based survey deliverables.
- Perform minimal outside field work as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of surveying experience within the State of Ohio.
- Must be a Surveyor-In-Training (S.I.) working toward an Ohio Professional Surveyor (P.S.) license or currently hold an Ohio P.S. license.
- Survey field crew professionals looking to transition into an office environment are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with land record research and platting requirements within County and City agencies around Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
- Ability to direct field personnel in performing surveys to State of Ohio minimum standards or above.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Understanding of Trimble survey equipment and data collection.
- Experience with project scheduling, personnel management, and work production techniques.
