Reports To: Finance Director Foundry North America

Purpose: Costing and Accounting support for Cleveland Operations and the USA/CAN Foundry business. Accountable for the ongoing development, analysis and processing of product costing, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. Responsible for calculation, verification, analysis, and reporting of product costs and inventory valuation of product lines.

Dimensions of Position:

  • Responsible for updating and managing costs in JDE system and ensuring product cost is correctly stated per budget standards
  • Collecting data to determine cost of raw materials and business activities
  • Developing/maintaining product bills of material
  • Maintaining changes to formulation and/or cost components that affect the selling price of manufactured goods to related companies
  • Reconciliation and valuation of manufacturing inventory as well as finished goods inventory
  • Reconciliation of the general ledger to perpetual inventory records
  • Reviewing and analyzing variances production process, material usage, scrap
  • Monitor inventory cycle count program and conduct periodic cycle count audits. Coordinate inventory control
  • Assisting in establishing improved processes for inventory and cost operation
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Complete detailed account analysis
  • Involvement in budgeting process and forecast preparation
  • Participation in month end closing, including journal entry preparation
  • Preparation of various financial schedules and financial statements
  • Completion of quarterly and year-end activities as required

Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Qualified accountant (example CMA) preferred.
  • 3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel

  • Commercial application of accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, GAAP)
  • Must be detail oriented and analytical
  • Requires problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills and be a team player to work effectively with other departments
  • Well organized and capable of working under pressure
  • Must have excellent computer skills including working with ERP systems and be proficient in Microsoft Office
