Position Summary
SUMMARY: The Accounting Leadership Development Associate (ALDA) is a role that combines the development aspects of Parker's Leader Development Program (LDP/Program) with the general duties of an entry level accountant. The ALDA's primary duties will involve providing accurate accounting data and thorough financial analysis that supports decision-making processes which will impact our long-term future.
The LDP involves a two-year rotation where the ALDA will work in a variety of roles, in a competitive training and hands-on leadership program designed to provide knowledge and experience with using their discretion and independent judgment related to their skillsets to support the business. They will receive leadership training and development experiences throughout the initial two years with the goal to develop skillsets in supervision, team leadership, and management.
While in program, rotational assignments are structured to expose participants to coaching/mentoring from other professionals from the organization, different business divisions, facilities, and managers nationwide.

The scope of this position requires working with all operational units, corporate/staff and select third parties in ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures while maintaining accounting controls.
PRIMARY & ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / FUNCTIONSIn addition to various leadership development activities and tasks related to the Program, the ALDA will perform direct responsibilities and accountabilities related to the rotational accountant assignment, including, but not limited to:
- Monthly closing, journal entries and correspondence to various divisions and third parties.
- Various monthly and quarterly account reconciliations/analysis.
- Interaction with accounts payable and ensuring controls are met in the proper auditing and accounting for various invoices and check request documents.
- Budget review and analysis.
- Assist in the accounting and auditing of Parker catalog services charges and allocations. Monthly allocation entries are coordinated and submitted and a review of various ledger accounts and allocation methodology is required.
- Coordination of annual supplemental W-2 process for relocated employees.
- Various monthly accounting duties and responsibilities.
- Assist in the development of financial plans for operating groups and corporate departments.
- Coordinate, implement and analyze the corporate administrative budget process.
- Initiate improvements in the budgeting and reporting process.
- Prepare monthly, month end, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Assist in the financial analysis of operating groups on a monthly basis.
- Monitoring orders and shipments
- Special projects-presentations for operations managers meetings, board of directors' meetings, various group/department meetings.
- Preparation of year-end analysis book.
- Special projects as required.
Bachelor's degree (BA) in Accounting or Finance or related field. One or two years of accounting experience preferred.
Travel requirements:
The assignments will likely require relocation. You will also be required to travel to Parker's corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio for program review, personal development and interaction with fellow program participants and mentors.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of accounting principles, i.e., GAAP.
Proficiency in other software, i.e., SAP Finance, Power BI, Alteryx, is a plus.
This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident or have refugee or asylee status.
COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:- Pay Range: $60,600/annually to $115,000/annually reflecting variations based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
