SENIOR BUDGET & MANAGEMENT ANALYST (OPEN)

SalaryThe prevailing salary for this position is $33,820.80 – $ per year.
Examination InformationExperience Evaluation: An experience evaluation consists of a quantitative evaluation of an applicant’s academic training and experience pertinent to the classification for which an examination is taken, based on the statement of experience as recorded on the candidate’s application and on academic training based on required credentials.
Examples of Duties:
- Under general direction, performs responsible and complex professional and administrative budget analyses, projections, and preparation.
- Researches and prepares annual operating budgets, including anticipated revenue, capital budgets, and projected expenditures.
- Monitors and analyzes financial operations and prepares status reports of budgetary issues and concerns for the City as required.
- Monitors outside agencies for operating costs to assist management with long‑term planning related to local issues, tax revenue, costs, and other required analyses.
- Supervises less senior employees.
- Performs other job‑related duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business/Public Administration, or closely related field from a four‑year accredited college or university required. Four years of full‑time paid experience in a governmental Finance, Budget, or Management related field, including one year of supervisory experience, required. Substitution: two years of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking.
Must be computer proficient and have knowledge of various financial reporting software packages. Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License required. Minimum qualifications must be met as of the last day of the filing period unless otherwise stated.
Veterans' preference will be awarded, when applicable, to eligible veterans in accordance with Civil Service Rules 4.40E, 4.40F and 4.40G. Proof of active service or a DD Form 214 must be presented to the Commission at the time of filing the application for the examination in which credit is sought to qualify for veterans' credit. A veteran who has received an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions shall receive an additional five (5) points added to their raw score on the examination;
or ten (10) points are added to their raw score on the examination if the applicant’s supporting documentation indicates more than fifteen percent (15%) service‑connected disability. Only DD Form 214 (long form) or an official armed service document indicating type of discharge or separation and the dates of active service will be accepted as proof of active service.
