Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) is a private non-profit corporation, organized and designated by the State of Ohio to be the planning, coordinating and administrative agency for federal and state aging programs in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina Counties. It is one of twelve Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in the state organized together with local service provider organizations and the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) to form the state s public aging services network.

The network works together to create opportunities for older Ohioans to receive needed home and community services and supports; and to age successfully in their own homes and communities.

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst plays an essential role in the Finance team by providing analytical support, performing a variety of accounting and budgeting functions, and contributing to the financial planning and effective resource management of the Agency. The Financial Analyst is responsible for tracking and forecasting program spending, assisting with the development of agency-wide financial plans, supporting process improvements, and ensuring that the Agency maintains strong fiscal management in support of its mission.

This is a full-time, on-site position located at our corporate office.

Job Duties
  • Financial Data Analysis:
    Analyze, classify, and interpret financial data to provide accurate and timely information for decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    Play a key role in the budgeting and forecasting processes for all Agency programs; ensure forecasts and budgets are accurate, achievable, and aligned with agency objectives.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and present financial information and reports for management and other internal stakeholders, including variance analyses and key performance indicators.
  • Financial Modeling:
    Develop financial models as needed to support planning for programs or business initiatives and provide actionable insights to Agency leadership.
  • Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, assist in documenting improvements, and help train team members on new procedures.
  • Support for Financial Close:
    Collaborate with the accounting team to review monthly financial results and support timely financial reporting; prepare analyses and schedules related to month-end reporting.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Clearly communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Other Duties:
    Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, or relevant field required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with PowerBI
  • Familiarity with non-profit fund accounting or financial reporting over multiple business units
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to address internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Must have current and valid Ohio driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance, and a car available during work hours.
