About the Opportunity
A publicly traded, global manufacturing company is seeking a Senior FP&A Manager to support a highly engineered business unit serving mission-critical and highly regulated end markets.
This is a highly visible finance leadership role with direct exposure to senior business leaders. The Senior FP&A Manager will partner closely with executive leadership, operations, commercial teams, and corporate finance to drive forecasting, annual planning, financial modeling, margin analysis, product profitability, and business performance reporting.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, understanding the "why" behind the numbers, and helping leadership make informed decisions around revenue, cost, margin, backlog, cash flow, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with senior leadership to align financial strategy with business objectives and support profitable growth
- Lead the annual operating plan and forecasting process for the business unit
- Prepare financial models, forecasts, and executive-level reporting packages
- Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results, including P&L, balance sheet, and free cash flow performance
- Monitor results against plan, forecast, and prior year, providing meaningful variance analysis and actionable insights
- Evaluate revenue, volume, product mix, margin, backlog, and profitability trends
- Partner with commercial, operations, and market leaders to understand key business drivers and explain performance changes
- Support monthly leadership reporting and commentary around financial results
- Lead product profitability analysis and identify opportunities to improve margins
- Identify cost reduction, process improvement, automation, and reporting enhancement opportunities
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic business decisions
- Ensure finance processes support standard work, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support ad hoc financial analysis, corporate reporting requests, and strategic projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required;
Master's degree preferred - 10+ years of progressive FP&A, finance, or related experience
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Standard cost accounting exposure strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of full P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis
- Experience leading forecasting, budgeting, annual operating plan, and variance analysis processes
- Prior exposure to corporate FP&A reporting environments preferred
- HFM / Hyperion experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills required; macros or automation experience preferred
- Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills
- Experience with business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting tools is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, commercial teams, and senior executives
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
