Position: Global Employer Services Senior Associate-Retirement Plan Services-ESOP Administration Focused

Job Description

The GES Senior Associate develops, recommends, and implements efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, particularly by reducing current and future tax liabilities. The role also involves tasks related to the taxation of equity compensation, deferred compensation, and individual and corporate income taxes.

Job Duties Research
  • Identifies situations requiring research and outlines the issues and appropriate sources.
  • Analyzes researched facts and sources.
  • Composes detailed reports of research findings.
  • Researches and assists with compensation planning and benchmarking for executive compensation models.
Tax Compliance
  • Ensures client compliance with applicable authorities while identifying options to minimize compensation‑related tax and reporting burdens.
  • Obtains required client information.
  • Accomplishes basic tasks and documents work product for review by senior Compensation & Benefits professionals.
Compensation and Benefits Consulting
  • Reviews SEC filings, survey data, issued briefs, and best‑practice guidelines as background for providing clients with creative compensation strategies.
  • Monitors tax and regulatory actions regarding executive compensation rules and advises clients on compliance strategies.
Strategy Development
  • Assists in preparing studies of market practices and tax/regulatory activity to identify alternative courses of action for clients.
  • Develops an understanding of the impact of clients’ business objectives on compensation strategy development.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervises day‑to‑day workload and reviews work of Compensation & Benefits Associates and interns on assigned engagements.
  • Ensures associates and interns are trained on all relevant software.
  • Assists in their professional development.
  • Delivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
  • Two (2) or more years of prior work experience required; focus in compensation and/or strategic service consulting preferred.
License/Certifications
  • Certified Compensation Professional, CPA certification, or other relevant certification preferred.
Software
  • Statistical software packages preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word, preferred.
Language
  • High proficiency in English, both verbal and written (including technical writing skills), preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with professionals at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detail.

  • Capability to manage a team and delegate work assignments as needed.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel.
  • Moderate knowledge of the legislative process regarding tax policy.
Compensation and Benefits

National Range: $73,500 - $131,250

Maryland Range: $73,500 - $131,250

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $73,500 - $131,250

Washington DC Range: $73,500 - $131,250
