Senior Accountant / Senior Associate - Assurance Services

We are seeking a motivated, skilled Audit Senior to join our growing Assurance Services team. This role sits at the heart of our engagements, acting as the day-to-day lead on client accounts while helping guide and coach junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Engagements:
Drive financial audits, reviews, and compilations from initial planning through to final completion. - Fieldwork Direction:
Manage daily field operations, monitor budgets, and establish efficient timelines. - Workpaper Review:
Draft and review clear audit documentation, trial balances, and financial statements. - Team Mentorship:
Supervise, coach, and provide direct on-the-job training to staff accountants and interns. - Client Relations:
Serve as a primary point of contact for client personnel, ensuring smooth data flow and year-round contact. - Evaluate Controls:
Analyze and test client internal controls, systems, and financial reporting processes to minimize risk. - Technical Research:
Research complex GAAP, GAAS, and industry-specific regulations to resolve specialized accounting issues. - Specialized Compliance:
Assist with specialized niche assurance services, including our robust HUD reporting and compliance practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance. - Experience:
Minimum of 2 to 5 years of recent experience in public accounting audit/assurance roles. - CPA Status: CPA certification is strongly preferred, or actively working toward eligibility/completion.
- Technical
Skills:
Deep working knowledge of GAAP and standard auditing procedures, with proficiency in modern audit software and MS Excel. - Niche Knowledge:
Prior experience with HUD audits or specialized real estate/healthcare portfolios is a major plus but not required. - Leadership Traits:
Strong project management abilities with the capability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
