Position Summary
Under supervision, this Financial Forecasting Senior Accountant will complete a variety of assignments related to financial forecasting, structured finance, cost segregation studies, and valuation engagements.
Contributions and Responsibilities- Complete assignments, including the preparation of financial forecasts and related tasks directed by the Supervisor.
- Evaluate and extract financial and non‑financial data from client‑provided documents such as letters of intent, term sheets, audited financial statements, tax returns, partnership agreements, loan agreements, appraisals, cost segregation studies, independent engineering reports, and related transaction agreements.
- Collaborate and consult with clients on optimizing investment return profiles by evaluating ownership structures, federal and state subsidies, and debt/equity financing options.
- Participate in meetings with clients and project finance team members to discuss structuring investments qualifying for federal tax credits (option zones, renewable energy, historic rehabilitation, new markets).
- Document and reference assumptions used in financial modeling engagements.
- Prepare summarized financial data reports.
- Identify and communicate potential problem areas during engagements.
- Assist as needed with accounting, audit and tax engagements, including year‑end financial statement audits, tax returns, cost certifications, and cost segregation studies.
- Perform other related assignments as deemed appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- 2+ years of appropriate experience in financial forecasting, structured finance, or related areas.
- Interest in developing knowledge of project and corporate finance, particularly tax‑credit‑subsidized investments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Accurate, time‑efficient work with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and follow‑through skills, ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and deadlines.
- Accept constructive feedback and adjust as directed.
- Collaborate and foster a productive, team‑oriented environment.
- Very proficient with Microsoft Excel (Windows) – including Sumif and COUNTIF, VLookup, Pivot tables, IF, AND, OR, IRR, MIRR, XIRR, PV, NPV, Goal Seek, MATCH, INDEX, CONCATENATE, ROUND.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office suite and report writing tools.
- Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
- Adhere to internal firm deadlines (time entry).
- Contribute ideas and add value to the team.
- Knowledge of partnership accounting/taxation, real estate and lending terminology is a plus.
- Ability to sit for CFA or CPA exam or have passed parts of these exams is a plus.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed and travel domestically if required.
- Experience with renewable energy, historic preservation, new markets tax credits, affordable housing, low‑income housing tax credits, opportunity zones, HUD, real estate, developers, partnerships, forecasting, cost segregation, partnership exits is helpful.
Competitive salary range: $77,000 to $94,000, commensurate with experience. Additional compensation includes firm profit‑sharing 401(k) package, discretionary annual bonuses for eligible positions, CPA bonus plan, and strong focus on work‑life integration.
