The Treasurer/CFO will serve as the district's chief financial officer and will be expected to provide leadership in all areas of school finance and fiscal operations. The Treasurer will:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board of Education and the Superintendent.
- Lead the district's financial operations with accuracy, transparency, and integrity.
- Support long-term financial planning and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Revised Code, Auditor of State requirements, and public school finance standards.
- Provide clear, timely, and understandable financial information to the Board, staff, and community.
- Maintain strong internal controls, audit readiness, and fiscal accountability.
- Align district resources with instructional priorities, operational needs, and strategic planning.
The district has demonstrated a strong commitment to responsible financial practices, transparency, and long-range planning. The next Treasurer will be expected to build upon that foundation while helping the district navigate the evolving financial landscape facing Ohio public schools.
Desired qualifications include:
- Strong understanding of Ohio school finance, school law, public-sector accounting, and public records requirements.
- Experience with fiscal forecasting, budgeting, appropriations, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, debt, investments, and internal controls.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly, professionally, and accurately.
- Demonstrated commitment to transparency, fiscal accountability, and ethical leadership.
- Ability to support long-range planning and align district resources with instructional and operational priorities.
- Experience with audits, financial statements, five-year forecasts, and public school compliance requirements.
- Ability to lead, develop, and support fiscal office staff.
- Capacity to serve as a trusted advisor to the Board of Education and Superintendent.
- Commitment to maintaining the district's strong financial practices and reputation.
Compensation includes:
