Responsibilities
- Perform monthly expense analysis for research activity within Cancer Research
- Develop action plans for identified variances in collaboration with principal investigators and the research management team
- Responsible for budget development, invoicing, and contract negotiations
- Perform monthly research financial oversight
- Monitor for compliance with policy
- Report any compliance issues to the research management team
- Provide ad hoc reports, reconciliations and schedules for management
- Negotiate budgets, contracts, and business terms with external funding agencies
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Five years of experience in Accounting
- Practical understanding of accounting and month-end closing cycle
- Exceptional experience with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to navigate CMS website
- Data/analytical experience
- Excel, SQL and Snowflake experience
- Strong analytical skills to interpret research protocols and develop accurate study budgets
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting
