Job Description:
Learning Objectives:
Peer Financial Coaches (PFCs) serve as first-tier financial aid representatives to assist students with navigating Financial Aid processes at the College. This can include applying for various financial aid programs,navigating My Tri-C Space and Blackboard, and applying for public benefits. PFCswill also assist the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFAS) office in performing outreach activities, such as campus events, website review, and outbound phone calls.
PFCs are expected to become adept at learning and understanding financial aid programs and public benefit options to help meet a wide range of student needs,including:
- Completion of Financial Aid Application sand Documents (FAFSA, Scholarships, Verification Forms, SAP Appeals)
- Department Outreach (Campus Events, Workshops, Financial Literacy)
- Assist with SFAS Services
- Other department and office duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will:
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0and semester enrollment of at least 6 credit hours
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to follow directions with attention to detail
- Proficient Computer and Technology Skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, Software Programs, etc.)
- Ability to work as part of ateam
- Adhere to college’sconfidentiality policy
- Successfully pass background screening
