Job Description:

Learning Objectives:

* Student will perform a support role assisting lab technicians and managers in the biology labs

* Duties will include:

* Assistance with laboratory preparations, setting up the laboratory rooms for faculty teaching lab classes.

* Setting up student laboratory exercises (a.k.a. lab preps) upon labeled carts which can be pushed into the laboratory or within benchtop areas within the student laboratory classrooms.

* Cleanup/sanitation of laboratory rooms after labs are performed

* Washing of laboratory glassware and other lab supplies as needed as part of lab clean up

* Checking for sufficient quantities of lab materials (distilled water, lab exam gloves, paper towels and soap) in laboratory classrooms and Bio-prep lab areas.

* Other duties as assigned

* Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;

* maintain satisfactory academic progress;

* adhere to College's confidentiality policy;

* successfully pass background/drug screening;

* maintain open lab time as scheduled;

* help maintain the facilities;

* other general maintenance requirements;

* work with specialized equipment including chemicals;

* preference given to currently enrolled students in major;

* familiarity with Microsoft Office;

* ability to work with minimal instruction;

* other duties as assigned.
