What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Conduct detailed reviews of claims inquiries and appeals from members and providers
  • Render independent decisions based on thorough research of claims processing activities
  • Generate timely written correspondence in response to appeals and inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with government guidelines while upholding member appeal rights
  • Identify and report errors in claims processing, initiating referrals as necessary
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 5-10 years of related, progressive experience in claims processing or a similar field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid customer service skills with the ability to make independent decisions
  • Thorough knowledge of claims policies, benefits, and medical terminology
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with processing systems in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
