- Typical Ratios: 1:1 or 2:1 in ICU; 3:1 in Intermediate Care
- Active RN license — Ohio RN or compact state license accepted (Ohio nursing jobs, travel RN Cleveland)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; pediatric cardiac or pediatric ICU experience preferred
- Critical care RN certification/competency preferred (CCRN or equivalent)
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills in high-acuity ICU environments
- Experience with immediate post-operative cardiac care: inotropic/vasoactive medication titration, mediastinal chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, ventilator and advanced airway management
- Experience with post-cardiac catheterization care and neonatal/pediatric cardiac considerations a plus
- EPIC EMR experience preferred (accurate EMR documentation and timely charting)
- Compassionate, family-centered pediatric nursing approach and excellent communication skills
- Ability to meet onboarding and compliance (verification, screenings, immunizations, facility modules)
- Provide expert bedside care as a Pediatric Cardiac ICU nurse for high-acuity and intermediate pediatric cardiac patients
- Manage immediate post-op cardiac patients including hemodynamic monitoring and titration of inotropic/vasoactive infusions per protocol
- Assess, troubleshoot, and manage invasive devices and lines (central and arterial lines, mediastinal chest tubes) and ventilatory support
- Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, pediatric intensivists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize outcomes
- Provide clear, supportive education and communication to patients and families using a family-centered care model
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Support continuity of care from admission through discharge planning and handoff coordination
