The Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will offer a variety of psychiatric services to clients under the direct supervision of a board-certified psychiatrist who oversees the outpatient clinic and Spravato clinic. The APP’s time will be utilized by outpatient appointments and supervising the Spravato clinic. Their primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, assessing a patient’s mental health, designing treatment plans, administering psychotherapy, prescribing psycho pharmaceuticals, adjusting medication and treatment for patients, assessing a patient’s suitability for Spravato treatment, supervising the administration of Spravato, and assisting in the growth and development of the Spravato clinic.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health status
- Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients
- Conduct 30-minute follow-ups (on average) and 60-minute new patient assessments
- Conduct Spravato suitability assessments on prospective patients
- Supervise patients while undergoing Spravato treatment
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
- Offer education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
- Promote mental health awareness and wellness among patients
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling to patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
- Assist in crisis intervention and management as needed, ensuring client safety and well-being

- Knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
- Maintain clinical competency and collaboration with Psychiatrist
- Will work in a collaborative and educational environment with a team of counselors and psychotherapists
- Licensed nurse in the state of Ohio with Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License in good standing or a Physician Assistant license.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Must be able to obtain a valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
- Board Certified
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist (we will provide)
- Psychiatric experience required.
- No prior Spravato/Esketamine experience is required. All necessary training will be provided.
