Summary

Performs a variety of patient access, scheduling and overall customer/provider assistance duties. Under supervision, administers and maintains the Patient Scheduling System. Provides a variety of clerical support duties for assigned clinic area, including but not limited to maintaining accurate payroll and other office related records; maintaining, ordering and restocking supplies, etc. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.

Qualifications
  • Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Three years previous office experience in a business office or health care setting. Proficiency utilizing Word processing applications. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and verbally. Ability to work independently within a team environment. All qualified applicants must pass the PSR pre‑employment screening test with a score of 75% or better and the post‑employment test with a score of 80% or better.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology – a plus. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Three years previous office experience in a health care setting. Previous experience in medical billing or patient registration.
Physical Requirements
  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
  • May need to lift up to twenty‑five (25) pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to communicate in face‑to‑face, phone, email, and other communications.
  • Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
