Pay Range: $21.00-$29.40/hr

Schedules Available:
Full time; 2nd Shift;
Friday-Tuesday

As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you would be responsible for conducting entry level tasks of a Behavior Health Clinician while performing safety and security duties under close supervision.

• Reads, initials, and dates shift reports within first 60 minutes of shift.
• Maintains an active presence on the floor (common and group room areas) by conducting frequent circulations of the unit at a minimum 30 minute intervals.
• Completes scheduled activities including, but not limited to: focus group activities, counseling groups under appropriate clinical supervision, intakes, random alco-sensor tests, urine drug screens, dorm/room searches, and emergency drills (fire, tornado, etc.) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Monitors medication compliance and reports and documents any non-compliance to clinical and/or medical staff.
• Notifies a facility supervisor immediately when law enforcement officers, fire department, and/or EMS personnel are called to the unit.
• Monitors, orders, and maintains supplies and forms for each staff post. Remains awake and alert while on duty to ensure responsiveness to staff, client, and/or facility needs.
• Effectively orients clients to program and facility by explaining issues including, but not limited to: programming attendance expectations, the role of treatment assistants, rule infractions that may result in termination, the hours of service availability, clients’ rights and the grievance procedure and costs for which they may be responsible.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must complete 40 hours of training in the first 60 days of hire to become a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist under Medicaid guidelines and be eligible and willing to obtain a CDCA within three months of working in the facility.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that does not preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance.
• Must be willing to undergo background checks, TB Test and pass a drug screen.
