Coding Auditor Educator

• Conduct audits on documentation, coding, and billing practices across the employer's entities
• Develop and deliver training programs to address deficiencies identified in audits
• Validate coding systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Create and monitor inpatient case mix reports to identify trends and patterns
• Provide guidance in response to external coding audits and prepare appeal actions as necessary

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
• AHIMA Credentials (Inpatient or Outpatient):
  Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• AAPC Credentials (Outpatient):
  Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital or physician coding and/or auditing

• Associate's Degree
• 3 years of experience with claims processing and data management
• Strong background in auditing and education/training related to coding and reimbursement
