The UH Cleveland Medical Center Operating Room is looking for Registered Nurses interested in joining their team. Benefits include: competitive hourly rate + $3.00 elevated hourly rate, PTO bridging, up to $5,000 sign-on bonus, tuition reimbursement after six months, and free parking.
A brief overview:
The surgical technologist maintains sterile conditions, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, and ensures that all instruments and supplies are available and properly handled. The first level in the surgical technologist career ladder.
What you will do:
- Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
- Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position.
- Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
- Assure appropriate instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition.
- Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
- Support the operative team, including following patient care hand off protocol.
- Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
- Involved in learning and self-improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program (required) or other accredited program: completion of a military surgical technologist training program (required). - Certification:
Preferred but not required. - Work experience:
Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture, and surgical procedures (required). - Knowledge, skills, & abilities:
Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture, and surgical procedures (required proficiency). Use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies (required proficiency). Good communication skills. Ability to take direction and work in a team environment. Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies. - Licenses and certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) (required within 90 days).
