SummaryProvides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients enrolled in the Summa Health Non-Surgical and Surgical Weight Management Programs, as well as to other patients of the Bariatric Care Center needing MNT. Provides discharge teaching regarding post-op diet protocols to all surgical patients and teaches classes in each program. Manages all phone calls from patients with nutrition questions, reviews nutritional value lab results, and implements standing orders for vitamin replacement.
Collaborates with surgeons, physicians, psychologists, nurses and all other members of the weight management treatment team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or closely related field of study
- Registered and licensed dietitian (RD)
- 1-2 years of position related experience in the care of patients needing non-surgical and surgical weight management
- Certified as Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or willing to obtain within 1-2 years.
- Ability to operate a computer
