REHABILITATION PSYCHOLOGIST

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) in The Metro Health System (MHS) seeks a Rehabilitation Psychologist to provide inpatient and outpatient management of adults following acquired neurologic conditions and injuries. The psychologist will be an integral member of our inpatient interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, working closely with the team to coordinate optimal rehabilitation and to provide ambulatory psychological services that optimize adjustment and coping.

The role includes management of patients with moderate to severe TBI, concussion, stroke, neurodegenerative disease, seizure disorder, spinal cord injury, amputation, burn injury, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as contributing to program expansion through group, individual, and family modalities. Academic opportunities include protected research time, pursuit of SCI and TBI Model System designations, and teaching and supervision of medical students, interns, residents, and fellows in PM&R and Psychiatry.

The position is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

• Provide inpatient and outpatient management of adults with acquired neurologic conditions/injuries.
• Provide ambulatory psychological services to optimize adjustment and coping.
• Manage patients with TBI, concussion, stroke, neurodegenerative disease, seizure disorder, spinal cord injury, amputation, burn injury, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
• Contribute to program expansion through group, individual, and family modalities.
• Participate in protected research activities for SCI and TBI Model System designations.
• Teach and supervise medical students, interns, residents, and fellows in PM&R and Psychiatry.

• Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program.
• Completed an APA/CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship program.
• Preferably trained in rehabilitation, health psychology, or neuropsychology, with experience in interdisciplinary team models for acquired neurologic injuries/conditions.
• Post-doctoral fellowship training in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
