Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and transporting patients as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. The role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures and equipment usage, and providing patient education at discharge.

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various respiratory equipment and devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using multiple methods.
• Monitor and document oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Review patient's chest x-rays for further evaluation.
• Assist with procedures related to respiratory care, such as Bronchoscopy and Chest Tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, including tube insertion and removal.
• Conduct arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Ensure accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses in records and patient charts.
• Communicate with physicians regarding therapy efficiency and provide necessary information during hand-offs.
• Maintain equipment and assist in its preventative maintenance.

The candidate must possess a valid Respiratory Therapist license and relevant certifications as required for the position.
